Our Staff

Kristina Lounsberry, PT, AT

Originally from Oklahoma, Kristina graduated with her B.S in Kinesiology/Athletic Training from Texas Christian University.  Upon graduation, she became BOC certified as an Athletic Trainer and began working with area high school and professional sport teams.  Kristina continues to work with local athletes.  This background helped to shape her interest in the return to play/return to function aspects of therapy.

In 2003, she graduated with her MPT from Texas Woman’s University in the Houston Medical Center.  Soon after, she began to specialize in industrial rehabilitation, focusing on functional evaluation and treatment of various orthopedic injuries.  Kristina is a Level II Certified Ergonomics Assessment Specialist through the Back School of Atlanta.  She has undergone extensive ergonomic training and is currently certified to perform functional testing through various national protocols, to include WorkSteps, Matheson, and Work Savers.  She has attended continuing education with Dr. Leonard Matheson on forensic rehabilitation and functional capacity evaluations.  She has applied as a Fellow to the American Board of Disability Analysts and is a current member of the International Academy of Independent Medical Evaluators.

Kristina served on the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board for 6 years and works as a committee member for the Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy.

Kristina remains an avid TCU Hornedfrog fan and enjoys watching sporting events at all levels.  She is a member of Go Run and has completed two marathons in Walt Disney World.  Marathon training has helped her keep up with her 16yo son, Will.

Scott Lounsberry, PTA, AT, CSCS

Scott grew up playing sports in the “Duck Capitol of the World” Gueydan, Louisiana.  He started his academic career at McNeese State University, transferring to Texas Christian University in 1995.  From there he graduated with a B.S. in Athletic Training and returned to the Lake Charles area.  Working with the Lake Charles Ice Pirates and Louisiana Outlaws for 4 seasons, he became interested in the strength training aspect of performance and received his Strength and Conditioning certification through the NSCA.  He then began an internship in Olympic lifting under tutelage of Gayle Hatch in Baton Rouge.

After opening Industrial Strength in 2000, Scott worked with the physical therapist in developing strength and rehab protocols focusing on patients with performance goals.  He began personal training programs with recreational and local high school athletes.  He became fascinated with the use of specific strength training techniques to increase work performance in active individuals.  In 2003, he began his ergonomics certifications through the Back School of Atlanta and Matheson systems.  He returned to school and graduated as a PTA in 2005.  He continued to concentrate on ergonomics and functional rehabilitation, focusing on injury prevention.  He began performing job site analysis for local employers and became the “director of protocols” and company liaison for our many testing systems.

Mainly on the sidelines during most sporting events, Scott has remained active in the running community, finishing seven marathons including the Goofy Challenge in 2010 at Walt Disney World.  He has also stayed involved as a basketball coach with the Upward Basketball and Hi-Hoops program at OLQH.  Scott is a member of the Buccaneers, Krewe Des Amis, and works as an Advisor in Personal Fitness with the local Boy Scouts.
