Evaluation and treatment of various orthopedic injuries with an emphasis on functional performance. We specialize in rehabilitation of athletic and work-related conditions where time and optimal function are of the essence. In the past, traditional therapy has focused on tissue healing and restoration of range of motion, at times forgetting the performance needs of the individual using that body part. Our background in biomechanics and athletic training allows us the ability to provide purpose driven therapy unique to each individual and his/her performance setting. By incorporating the latest strength and conditioning research with the evidence-based results of mechanical diagnosis and therapy, we are able to help each patient face the rigors of their profession or sport with complete confidence and at full capacity.

We also provide post-surgical care with the purpose of creating a solid baseline to progress into functional movements as allowed. We are able to help set-up parameters for possible light duty work and can work with physicians and employers on implementing and adjusting work restrictions as rehab progresses.

We are also providers of the McKenzie (MDT) program and the Graston Technique.

Symptoms of a concussion that last longer than seven days are both concerning and frustrating. We understand that all concussions are not created equal therefore we perform a systematic evaluation and create an individualized recovery program to enable the patient to return to work, play, life…

A post-offer screen is a comprehensive evaluation of a prospective employee to determine his/her ability to safely to perform the essential functions of the job. Job-specific tasks are established through an extensive job site analysis or are provided by the employer through a specific job description. Post- Offer screening allows the clinician to rule-out any pre-existing conditions which may impact the applicant's safety while on the job. It can also be used as a tool to determine whether any accommodations may be required and/or reasonably provided. Furthermore, it is an individualized assessment that establishes a physical baseline for each employee that can be later used for return-to-work status, disability determination, or the second injury fund.

Fit-for-Duty testing is administered to a current employee post-injury. This evaluation process focuses on the injured body part and its contribution to the current employee's overall function in regard to performing the essential functions of the position. FFD testing includes only tasks that are job related and consistent with business necessity. These evaluations are also used for area transfers.

Job Site Analysis

JSA are critical for creating Essential Functional Based Job Descriptions.  This is accomplished by visiting the job site to collect information.  The information includes interviews, weights, distances, video and observation of employees.  The measurements are used to link essential functions with physical demands, determine risk of injury and set parameters for Job Specific Testing.

An FCE is a extended musculo-skeletal and functional assessment designed to help determine an individual's current physical capabilities in relation to a past or ongoing injury/disease process. It is an intensive short-term study of strength, flexibility, endurance, and general mobility. An FCE can be ordered by a physician, case manger, attorney, or employer. (All patient's must have a written release by the treating physician to participate in functional testing.) It can be used to establish a level of impairment, to quantify disability status, to determine return-to-work capabilities, or for other various medical/legal purposes. In summary, an FCE is a general medical evaluation incorporating non-specific activities to determine an individual's overall physical limitations/capabilities in regard to a medical condition.
